A LOFAR Transients Key Science Project meeting is being held in Amsterdam on 8–10 January 2014. As well as discussion of ongoing scientific and development projects, this provides an opportunity to take stock of results from Cycle 0 observations. All Transients Key Project members and invited guests are welcome.
Registration & Costs
Please use the registration form to register for the meeting and, if applicable, to submit a talk title and abstract. The deadline for registration is 1 December 2013.
Participants are requested to make a contribution of €50 towards the costs of running the meeting. Please be prepared to pay this in cash on arrival at the meeting; a receipt will be provided.
Venue & Travel
The meeting will take place in room C0.07 (the "Doelenzaal") of the Library of the University of Amsterdam, at Singel 421–427, 1012 WP.
Singel is right in the heart of Amsterdam, and is easily accessible by public transport. Excellent maps are available from Google and OpenStreetMap. Google can also provide public transport directions, but the local service 9292 is often more helpful. When you arrive at the venue, the location of the meeting will be clearly signposted.
Accommodation
We have made a block booking for workshop participants at the Eden Hotel Amsterdam. The hotel is centrally located and just a few minutes walk from the meeting venue. You can take advantage of this by using this special booking link, which should remain valid until 2 January. (Of course, you can also arrange your own accommodation in Amsterdam if you prefer.)
Catering
Lunch will be provided on 8 and 9 January. Please note that contrary to previous announcements lunch will be served at the meeting venue: no extra walking necessary!
At 19:00 on Wednesday 8 January, we will meet for a workshop dinner at the restaurant Haesje Claes. The restaurant is close to the meeting venue and easily walkable from the workshop hotel. At the restaurant, you will have a choice of dishes: there should be something suitable for all dietary requirements. The meal and some drinks (bottles on the table) will be covered by the workshop fee. If you require additional drinks, please order and pay for them yourself.
